We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful Victorian solid black walnut carved pillars marble top cabinet. It was most likely used for files and office equipment. It could have been an actual music cabinet as it has section for records or even file folders. It has a picture frame molded hand cut dove tail drawer above the door and also a “hidden” drawer below the door. The cabinet dates from the 1860s to 1870s. it is in the original as found condition. The front of the door has raised panel walnut carved appliqués. The big center carved medallion matches the ones on the corner. The large one on the inside has three piece of molding missing, but we could replace the molding if you desire and can be discussed at the closing of the sale. It has beautiful rose quartz bevel edge cookie corner marble top that is all good. It has solid black walnut cabinet frame with the carved columns on the outside with the acanthus carving on the top and the bottom. The interior is maple with slots for music, records, files and disks. There is also the dove tail drawer on top and the hidden drawer in the bottom. The walnut door has a crack in it that is no big deal, and it also sticks and rubs a little when you open it, but we wanted to mention it. The overall size is 32 inches wide, 23 inches deep and 41.5 inches high. The size of the door is 23 inches wide by 28 inches high.
