Dating from the 1860′s to 1870′s, this beautiful piece appears to be in all original condition and finish, and features an adjustable molded oval mirror supported by two wooden threaded dowels that go into the side of the U-shaped yoke with a finial top and incise carved decorations, complete with buttons underneath the swivel mirror. The top of the mirror frame has a crown molded top and a clamshell center crest and you can tell that there was an earlier repair with the top showing a small crack that has been mended. It sits down in the top of a white ogee beveled edge marble top, and has a two drawer base with dainty hand cut dovetails on the sides of the drawers, tiny little wooden walnut turn knobs. One of the knobs is cracked and is half-missing, and is also three little pieces of molding are absent—all of which we will have professionally corrected before shipping. This stands upon a multi-turn solid black walnut column base with four incise carved cutout fancy legs. This is a much better than normal shaving stand, back in the early days, this shaving stand would have brought close to $2500, but because of the new market pricing, the reserve on this is definitely much less. The overall size is approximately 17 inches wide across the marble, 14 ½ inches deep and the height to the marble top is 39 ½ inches. The height when the mirror is sitting down resting on the top of the table is approximately 68 high to the crest and it also will adjust up as high as 14 inches for a taller man. In its original condition, we will fix the missing molding and the turn knob and other than just the normal old stains on the original white marble, everything else is pretty much nice. It will cost $285.00 to have this shipped to your home.
