We are pleased to be offering today a very unusual and rare type antique items as displayed in this mahogany Victorian age inlaid barley twist spindles with claw feet swivel piano chair. You could also use this as a desk chair as it goes up and down on a threaded rod. The inlay is maple and shows a book in the center with what appears to be something similar to a mandolin above it. The mother of pearl and maple inlay depicts a Victorian scroll like in the old days. it has flame torch finial tall posts, barley twists that multi turn into the mahogany scooped out seat, five rope twisted turn spindle , large oval inlaid panel on the back, and then it goes down a wonderful Victorian carved four footed base. As the seat gets raised there is a little bit of a wobble (maybe 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch) as it has been used over the years. You can see where someone has retightened the four legs of the base as I am sure it had gotten loose over the years The claw foot base almost looks like there should have been claws on the sides, but all four legs are the same way and they are all finished. So, I am not sure if they are factory or not. However, this is still a fancy unusual hard to find adjustable height chair. Shipping starts at $149 if you are in our normal area. Please check prior to purchase to confirm that you are in our normal area as rates do vary. The overall size of the chair is 18 inches wide across the seat, 18 inches deep from the front to the back, 41 inches high overall and as displayed in the photos the seat height is 19 inches but will adjust 2 inches either way. It is in the original finish and crazing is in the clear coat as a lot of the older chairs had.
