This Empire period flame mahogany mirror is not truly an ogee mirror, although it is made in that style. There is flame mahogany all along the frame with the traditional flat edge like original ogee mirrors, but then instead of ogee cut it has a bevel-edge cut. This style is quite hard to find, and we see one of these for every 100 traditional design ogees. This classic wall mirror dating from the 1850’s is 20.5 inches across, and 41.5 inches high on the frame section. On the mirror section it is 13.5 inches wide and 34.5 inches tall. This appears to be the original looking glass, all worn and time-distressed, as it should be. This piece includes wire hangers. It is finished in a reddish-brown stain, and the flame mahogany has a lot of flame to it. It’s very easy to imagine this sumptuous mirror gracing the wall of the right home. Shipping on this item is $55 within the normal shipping area.
