We are pleased to be offering today one of the original glider style rockers that dates from the 1890s to 1900s. The iron brackets that hold the gliders together are usually stamped with the patent dates, which I believe is in the 1880s. The photographer should get a picture of it for you. The dark oak finish and multi turn spindles are all original. Check out the press design on the base and fronts of the arms. It has a roll veneer seat, veneer tiger sawn back and there is a chip in the right hand corner that is colored as it has been missing for a long time. The chair is predominantly tiger sawn oak. It has five turn spindles supporting each arm for strength and comfort. It has a double tiger sawn back with nine slanted turn dowel spindles that are supported with two outside posts. It is oversize for a larger person or great for a parent rocking their child or grandchild to sleep. The overall size is 25 inches across the arms, 19 inches on the inside of the arms, 20 inches deep, 41 inches high as it rests and 17.5 inches high to the seat. Shipping starts at $245 for a driveway delivery in our normal area. Please contact us prior to purchase to confirm that you are in our normal area.
