If you are looking for a period 1850's flame mahogany stylish sofa in the empire style and you are a tall person who likes to stretch out; then look no further! This long monumental sofa will definitely fit the bill. Created before the civil war, this sofa is in the original finish and has the old time crush velour blue fabric. The fabric has no rips or tears and is very usable. Many people would like to restore it, but I would leave it alone. The finish is a dark rich luxurious mahogany frame. This sofa has a reverse ogee molded back that curves on the corners, applied carved forearm, multi-block ogee molded platforms that comes down into a platform foot. There are minor nicks and dings here and there on the edges. It is a nice sofa at a reasonable price. The overall size is 95 inches wide, 71 inches wide on the base of the inside of the arms, 26 inches deep, 36.5 inches high, 29 inches high to the arm and 20 inches high to the seat. There are a few flaws in the woodwork, which can be expected for an item of this age. The back is unfinished, which can go right up against a wall. This sofa is long enough for almost anyone to lay down and stretch out for a nap or to watch a ball game! Due to the extra long size, the shipping is a bit higher than normal. It will cost $585 to ship this sofa via delivery to our normal location. Please contact us to confirm that you are within our normal location.
