We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful primitive dresser that came right out of an estate in Maine. We actually call this in the trade a state of Maine chest. It has solid plank sides, wavy birch drawer fronts, hand cut dove tail and dates from the 1850s. It has been finished along time ago in a medium amber color. It has the four hand cut dove tail drawer, original hepplewhite oval brass hardware, multi-turn legs and a fancy cut out fretwork skirt. The beauty of this entire chest is the grain of the wavy birch wood. The top is gorgeous. The overall size is 41.5 inches wide, 19 inches deep and 40 inches high. The hardware appears to be all original. The top 3 drawers that have keyholes even though there is no key. It has a scribed edge along the drawer faces, which just makes it look nicer than normal. One of the legs was a little loose, but the bracket was re-glued. Shipping starts at $345 for a driveway delivery in our normal area.
