Product Description

We are pleased to be offering today this gorgeous fully restored tiger sawn oak Brunswick pool table that was originally sold by the Oliver Briggs and Son Company out of Boston, Massachusetts dating back to the early 1900’s fully professional restored.  They advertised that they had electric bumper cushions back in the day on their rails.  This table will come to your home to be assembled by a local professional.  This gorgeous regulation size tiger sawn oak mission style inlaid table has been completely stripped and refinished.  We have included a new set of leather pockets, which are not shown, and the felt that will come will be green unless you notify us at the time of sale that you would prefer maroon or beige.  The pockets shown are old pockets, but we always install new leather pockets on each table we sell.  The table components are all correct and it has the brass label plate on the end where Oliver Briggs and Son put their logo in.  We left the original old decal right on the end.  The table comes with new leathers pockets, but the iron brackets will be original, a new set of balls, two simplistic cue sticks, an eight ball rack and a nine ball rack along with assorted chalk so that you will be able to play right after assembly.  The table itself has walnut top rails, circular white dots inlaided in, instead of the traditional diamond points.Brass caps on the side which will be mostly reproduction antique, dark oak stain finish, beautiful maple ebony rectangular inlaid that are on the legs and the side rails.  The table is a regulation size table being approximately 8.5 feet by 4.5 feet.  I have one that I have played on for many years that I enjoy.  We take our pool tables apart, hand strip them, replace the pockets, install new felt. The wood is all gone through to correct any nicks, dings or cracks in the veneer, hand sand, stain a dark oak color, hand rub sanding sealer and top of with many coats of moisture resistant lacquer for many years of enjoyment.  We have been in the antique business for 40 years and we have bought and sold throughout the entire time.  We have an assortment of pool tables on hand at all time.  We have about 4-5 inlaid pool tables right now along with 10 other non-inlaid.  We love to deal in the oak and walnut ones that everyone loves.  Our pool tables are shipped, if you are from away, common carrier or by Ply-Con shipping.  The slates are all crated, the woods are blanket wrapped and the charge is normally $500-$700.  Once the table is at your location, you will have to hire a local pool table guy to simply assemble the table or we can walk you through the process. We have done that with the last two purchases and they did it all in house, but we find most people prefer to have someone do it and the charge averages $200-$400 depending on your location.  This table is a wonderful investment as we have sold this same model, called the Madison which came in oak or mahogany (we have one in mahogany currently), we sold this same model to someone in the state of Maine $3,400 back in the 1970s.  So, they are antiques that historically keep increasing in value. During your investment, you get to spend many enjoyable times playing with friends and family.  If you have any questions please contact John at 207-314-9621 and he can answer any questions you may have.  Don't forget to check our other items for many more pieces of investment minded antique furniture.
