We are pleased to be offering this wonderful mahogany Chippendale unusual design ball and claw sideboard that dates from the 1930s. This sideboard came in and looked pretty good, but needed a few things done. We decided to go right through it and bring it back to life. We re-glued on the two bottom skirt pieces, which certainly made the look. We sanded it all down, color stained it a dark brown and sprayed applied multiple coats of satin sheen lacquer. It came out looking really nice. It has the original hardware on all the drawers and we replaced the hardware on the doors. You can't tell they were replaced, but we wanted to mention it. There is now a place where you can use the key, even though we do not guarantee the locks to work as they usually need to be cleaned and adjusted. It has a beautiful style and a lot of little things that really dress it up, like the spindle turn spindle turn molding around all the dove tail drawers (including the curved drawers), two curved doors with picture frame carving all over the top and the sideboard terminates with four delicate ball and claw feet in the front and two cut out scallop feet in the back. The wonderful detail carved backsplash with what appears to be a lion head in the center, but it is just the way the leaves lay. The overall size is 66 inches wide, approximately 25 inches deep, 45 inches high to the top of the backsplash and 38 inches high to the top of the base cabinet. Take a look at the pictures to see the stunning grains used in this wonderful buffet. The doors open to hold plenty of alcohol as it is an open area for large bottles. The second drawer is felt lined and has a slider for silverware if interested. The bottom drawer is a really deep drawer to hold plenty of dining items.
