This is a burl walnut carved double door, triple drawer sideboard with a beautiful carved crest on the backsplash dating from the 1930s. This piece just came in and shows a few rub marks and some very faint rings, possibly where a vase was placed, but is in overall outstanding condition. It is finished in a medium walnut stain that brings out the grains of the veneer on the top and face. Two matched veneer picture frame molded doors with fancy brass hardware open up to reveal a shelved interior for space. There are three dovetail drawers in the center, with the top drawer having the divided felt silverware tray, and all featuring the heavy brass hardware. The top on the outside edge is all carved to match the carving on the backsplash, and this is all supported by four carved cabriole Queen Anne Chippendale pad foot legs. There is also a lovely bottom skirt. Measuring 55 inches wide, 21 inches deep, 36.5 inches to the top of the case, and 38.5 inches to top of backsplash, this sideboard would make an excellent addition to your home or collection.
