We are pleased to be offering this outstanding Belter Style Rococo Carved Rosewood Turtle Top Center Table to you today.  Dating from the 1870-1880’s, this table is in the manner of John Henry Belter and is a stunning example of superior Victorian furniture. The Carara marble top is new, and is set into a gadrooned serpentine table skirt. The shapely molding meets in the center on each side with scrolling flower details. Each corner features a dropped pineapple pendant finial that mirrors the raised pineapple finials on each of the legs. The bulbous reeded pedestal base features floral carved panels and four heavily carved legs that are scrolled and rest upon what appears to be the original casters. This piece has been professionally refinished and restored, and has no apparent damage with the exception of a split in the bulbous base between two of the rows of molding on the post. You have to really study it to see it. The rope carved molding edge that follows the marble top has some lamination seam issues and a small chip in the corner. Overall, the base and skirt appear to be in very nice condition–other than the one little chip in the lamination seams, and the small split in the base, the table does look to be in really nice condition. This table is an excellent and important piece of furniture, in the manner of one of the most important craftsmen of the 19th century.
It measures 30 inches high, 47.5 inches long, and 33 inches wide, and is absolutely stunning! It will cost $385.00 to have this table shipped, as long as you are within the normal shipping area.
