A beautiful black walnut organ dating from the 1880s, this instrument has a few stuck keys, but if they are fixed, will actually play music

This is a really nice solid black walnut Victorian fancy-cut organ, featuring double beveled glass mirrors, spindles, spoon carving and dating from the 1880s and manufactured by the Wheeler Organ and Piano Company out of York, Pennsylvania. It comes with everything all original, except for a couple screws that hold the top gallery down. It has the key covers still in place, all the ivories are still there, although some are damaged. Even the original carpet is there on the foot pedals, with holes worn in it on both sides from use. The bellows do pump and the organ does play, but there are a few stuck keys. Get those keys unstuck, and you can play this organ. The condition of the mirrors is a bit worn and the black paint around the keyboard is worn a bit, also. On the very top there are three protruding screws that may have held a cutout piece of molding at one time, and there is a tiny bit of wear where that used to be. The finish on the outside case is pretty good. A lot of people have been taking these organs and making them into attractive desks, which are easy to make by taking out the keyboard, and they are quite valuable. The finish is dark walnut, and it even has handles on the sides to pick it up. An organ is not like a piano, it’s very light. It consists of an outside wooden case, some big bellows and the keyboard mechanism. It’s light enough that two small people can pick it up and move it around. This one has a removable gallery, so it is in two pieces total. The overall size, from handle to handle, is 44 inches wide. It is 23 inches deep at the deepest point, front to back, and is 69 inches high. This is a nice piece of Victorian that will look great in the home. It will cost only $385 to have this organ shipped to your home, within our normal delivery area.
