This is a wonderful example of turn of the century oak antiques as displayed in this secretary desk, which is commonly called a side-by-side secretary desk/bookcase, with drawers, dating from the 1890s or 1900s. In outstanding original condition, this is a heavily carved, double beveled glass, shapely mirror piece features a curved glass door, four adjustable shelves, triple drawer base and a beautiful slant-top lid with carvings, all in a dark oak stain. The overall size of this beautiful piece is 42 inches at the widest point, 16 inches deep, 48 inches to the shelf above the slant-top lid, 62 inches to the shelf above the curved glass door and 75 inches to the top of the carved crest. The width of the curved glass door is 17 inches and the width of the slant-top lid is 20 inches. It comes with its original key, and has it all: beveled glass mirrors, original hardware, original key and keyhole covers, all the way down to the multi-turned spindles and the dainty shelf on the side, all is original and intact. This is just the way you like it when you’re looking for investment antiques. The only thing to pick on, if you really want to find something, is that the beveled glass mirrors are a bit cloudy because they are 110 + years old, just the way they should look!
