This beautiful solid mahogany Duncan Phyfe Federal-style sofa was made by the Kimball Furniture Co. out of Indiana. This sofa is beautiful. The owner of the estate it came from said he believes they bought it about eight years ago for somewhere over $2000.00, and it doesn’t look like anyone has ever sat in it. Upholstered in a splendid cranberry Federal-style striped floral fabric with mauve floral designs and antique mallard greens and golds, it features a triple cushion seat, and a wonderful carved scrolled front with the big detailed wooden claw foot. It has the Duncan Phyfe curved or sleigh back with two urns carved with fruits and vegetables. The overall size is 89 inches across the outside and 65 inches on inside. Front to back is 30 inches deep. Height of the arms is 29 inches high and height to the back is 36 inches high. It has rolled arms just like the original period style, and the wood is a dark, rich reddish-brown stain. The overall condition is excellent, and it really must be seen to be appreciated. It will cost only $385 to have this sofa shipped to your home, within the normal delivery area.
