The beautiful upholstery, rich dark reddish-brown stain, and nice solid construction makes this set of six Country Chippendale chairs a welcome addition to your dining table

Set of six mahogany stained formal dining chairs, made and sold by the Bernhardt Furniture Company back in the 1940s. This is a set that came right out of an estate, that consists of one fancy carved armchair and five oversized carved side chairs. The chairs are what they call “Country Chippendale,” because they have a square style front leg, but they have the traditional Chippendale design carved back, with the fancy cutout splat in the center. They have carved knuckles on the arms of the armchair, carving on the square legs on the front and sides, the rear legs are flared and one-piece and are joined together with a wonderful H cross-stretcher in mahogany that makes for a high-quality chair. They are finished in a dark reddish-brown stain color. The overall condition is good, and the finish is in excellent condition. They only have very few nicks and dings, and are in great, tight shape. The upholstery, which was redone somewhere along the line, is antique beige with a little V-shaped design that uses antique green, gold, mauve and beige for a wonderful color combination that looks perfect against the rich reddish-brown wood. The overall sizes, beginning with the side chairs, are 22 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 38 inches to the top of the chair back, and 19 inches to the top of the seat. The armchair measures 25 inches across the arms, 23 inches across the seat, 19 inches deep, 37.5 inches high, 27 inches to the top of the arms and 19 inches high to the seat. All six chairs are being offered for one good price. It will cost only $265 to have this set shipped to your home, within our normal delivery area.
