Dating from the 1930’s or ‘40s, this is a beautiful Gothic carved oak sideboard that originated in France. The buyer of this piece will be getting a lot of furniture for the money: It’s of monumental size with tons of storage space. This sideboard was made using solid oak and veneer oak combined to make a great-looking piece. There is a carved shield right in the center of the back, a plaque so beautiful that our owner joked he considered popping it off and selling separately! In its original medium oak stain color, the triple door front opens up to reveal shelves behind each door and the two outside doors have dovetail drawers of solid wood in place for storage. Featuring carved columns down the front, and solid wood legs, this piece also comes with the original key. The locks have all been tried and they all work, although we never guarantee locks. This magnificent sideboard also boasts multi-turned solid wood legs with a cross-stretcher. Measuring 87 inches long, 22 inches deep, 41.5 inches to the top of the cabinet, and 48 inches to the backsplash, when you talk about storage space, this piece has it. There are typical Gothic-shaped carvings on the front doors in the center with a tan vinyl back plate that gives the impression of curtains. All the doors have all the pewter colored hardware intact. The center door has a crack in the center panel, which could be glued up if necessary. Other than the crack, this piece is in excellent original condition.
