This is an over-sized Empire humongous toenail claw foot extra large chest that dates from the 1890s-1910s. It features a massive beveled glass swivel mirror in a carved wing Empire curl foot frame. This is a fantastic chest, of very high-quality. It is heavy and very impressive in person. Someone has re-sprayed the top, which reveals the beautiful grains of the marvelous mahogany used. It probably is in original condition except for the re-sprayed top. With glass knobs, toenail claw feet, a rolled front flame mahogany bottom skirt, Empire curled posts and a very unusual mirror harp that has carved wings on the sides of the scrolling posts. The mirror is massive, and at the moment we’re looking at a really nice picture — oh, wait, that’s just my reflection. Anyway, it’s an overall really nice chest. It measures 54 inches wide, 24 inches on top and 27 inches deep, including the height of the posts. It is 32 inches high to the top of the dresser base, and 69 inches high to the top of the mirror. The looking glass is 40 inches wide by 29 inches high. It’s the original glass and shows some minor wear marks here and there, but overall is very nice and useable. The very tops of the drawers are curled out just like pillars, and have lots of dovetails on the sides to hold them together. The two oversize drawers step back in the base and offer lots of storage. It’s a great-looking chest, well worth the money. It will cost only $325 to have this chest shipped to your home, within the normal delivery area.
