We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful bow front mahogany period country chest that dates from the 1840s to 1850s. look at the high style French foot on this beautiful Hepplewhite chest! The finish being redone years and years ago has it warmed up to a bright patina. Someone has replaced the handles with expensive brass knobs that are period, but do not belong with this chest. The high grade French foot has a flare to it along with the bow front curve. It has picture frame molding on the drawers and some of the dainty molding is missing as can be seen in the photos, but what can you expect for something that is 160-170 years old. The overall size is 42 inches wide, 22 inches deep and 39 inches high. The height of the foot is 9 inches high just to give you an idea of the class this chest possesses. It has a hand chaffered backboard, hand cut dove tail and hand cut chaffered drawer bottoms. It has the normal wear on the top where people have set things over the years.
