We are pleased to be offering this beautiful new England country item that is getting really hard to find. There are tons of reproductions around, but this is the real McCoy. It is a tiger maple with some birds eye maple used in the construction of this beautiful tapered hepplewhite leg stand. It has the original period style hardware. It is hand chamfered on the drawer, tapered legs, peg construction and it doesn’t get any better for originality. We didn’t touch the top, but it has a pressure crack which is normal. IT isn’t warped. It simply needs to be re-glued and reset. I personally like the charm and character it provides. There are also a couple of light stains on the top from likely an oil lamp. The overall size is 15 inches wide, 14.25 inches deep and 27 inches high to the top. The drawer is amazing with the hand cut dove tail work. I would date this from the 1840s to 1860s. It is in the original patina of a dark amber color that draws out the maple grains. Shipping starts at $65 for a driveway delivery in our normal area.
