We are pleased to be offering today something that you hardly sees any more. It is a beautiful set of solid mahogany formal dining chairs in the Prince of Wales Hepplewhite design with each chair having a beautiful oval inlaid design in the back, a sure sign of quality. They are a great looking set of six. They are unusual as they have twin master chairs and 4 side chairs. The chairs are solid mahogany with the exception of the applied veneer inlaid on the backs along with the Prince of Wales carving. This was an expensive set back in the day and are likely made by Kittinger or Beacon Hill or someone similar as they are a high quality set. I couldn’t find a makers name on any of the chairs though. The arms are carved with wrap around upholstery seats that are in good condition with just a couple of small spots in the upholstery that should shampoo out. The chairs are in the rich reddish brown color with a great finish only showing a few minor rub marks. The Prince of Wales carving on the top are simply stunning. The overall size of the arm chairs are 24 inches across, 19 inches deep on the seat, 38 inches high on the back, 28 inches high to the arm and 18 inches high to the seat. The side chairs are 22 inches wide, 17 inches deep, 38 inches high on the back and 18 inches high to the seat. They date from the 1940s.
