This is a lovely Victorian-age French style mahogany beveled glass ladies vanity with a shapely gingerbread beveled glass carved swivel mirror on top that sits upon a wonderful cutout design base with cabriole legs and beautiful brass art nouveau French hardware. Dating from the 1890's, The overall size of this vanity is 37.5 inches wide, 21.5 inches deep, and 31 inches high to the cabinet, and 60 inches to the top of the mirror. The mirror shell is all shapely solid mahogany and follows the contours of the beveled  glass, and you can see where someone did something to the mirror at one time and there are four little gray strips where the silver has been worn away. I left it because I like the way it ages and dates a mirror, and it certainly doesn’t affect the middle of the mirror, where you would be looking.  The mirror frame swivels and bends, and is otherwise perfect, but if you really want those four streaks removed, we can do that for an additional cost of $150 if you advise at the time of purchase by stripping the mirror and rebacking it with a replacement mirror. The base cabinet of this piece has two unusual dovetail reverse serpentine front drawers, and on the base are two reverse curve drawers.  The fancy swell-front gingerbread carved center has all the gingerbread intact, but there are a few minor cracks that do not affect the structure or sturdiness of the piece.  The top has been re-sprayed to reveal the beautiful rich, reddish-brown finish of the luxurious mahogany stain.
